This is what Juan Carlos Ortiz does.This is one of first things, and really there are few things, that Jesus pointedly said "to do." This is the beginning of the NEW life and it is marked by faith: Believing to the point of acting upon the word of God. The doing is motivated and accomplished as we abide in Christ, being led by the Holy Spirit. This moves us out of our comfort zone of complacency and brings us into His life of joy and adventure. Juan Carlos Ortiz gives a wonderful view of how he entered into this life; the joys, struggles and the process of growing personally and corporately in his relationship with a God who is willing to enter our mess, bringing wholeness and life to His Body. You will desire to see yourself in this book. Must read.

This is a timeless book! Written in 1975, it's just as valid and true today. If the church was honoring (and loving God with all their heart... etc.) by obeying ALL His Laws, Statutes and Commandments, our nation would be in a much different... and better place today. Let us commit - individually - to be disciples of Christ.
Wasn't in as good a shape as the reviews expressed. Lots of writing in it.
This book has been impacting my life and the lives of others in whom I invest since the mid-1970's. After 40 years, the main points are still valid and the illustrations are still fresh. Anyone who is serious about following Jesus should read this book.
I Have Had No Issues with this Product and I would buy it again today if I needed it!
I love this book. It challenged my mind and spirit my freshman year of college. I have been involved with an intensive discipleship community for the last six years— both as a student and now staff member of the ministry. We live out the principles of this book and THEY WORK! Praise God for His design of discipleship, the first pyramid scheme.
I like the humble and balanced attitude the author takes towards church growth, the Holy Spirit, and the cross-denominational nature of the Church. It is humble, but not without power, boldness, and confidence. I had read this years ago, and got a copy again to share with friends. It's a shame the condition of the paper is getting so worn-out. I wish I could find newer reprints, but I don't expect any new editions to come out anymore. Some of the things in this book are no longer so relevant in our current contexts (USA and Latin America).
This is a book every pastor HAS to read, and every lay leader _should_ read. There are more core commands of Jesus discussed here and shown in the modern context than any other book I know. Ortiz has a great sense of humor and the book reads easily and quickly, altho much of what he says is very convicting and therefore a painful "come to Jesus" moment for most clergy.
